I started to detect when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they headed out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they beinged in the garden. With nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females went about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the individuals who walk past the home. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that many women at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a very small street, 8 semi-detached homes and 1 separated (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's house, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage kids. They remain in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She recently separated from her other half and is in the procedure of moving. She is in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our home. I have not presented myself yet, so now would be a great time. I'm John (28 ), and I deal with my mum Chrissie (45) and daddy Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't understand their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself.
