After smoking almost constantly when the anxiety set in, I began to observe the comings and goings of individuals in the street. I started to detect when the mums walked their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would discover myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these women set about their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the individuals who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hi and progressed to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and is in the procedure of moving.
