We all go along with this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a 2nd idea. After smoking cigarettes nearly continually when the anxiety set in, I began to notice the comings and goings of the people in the street. I started to pick up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they returned when they went out shopping, when they took the dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden. With absolutely nothing else to do, my mind filed away the regular times and I would find myself subconsciously having a cigarette when these females tackled their daily routines.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who walk past the house. I started with a friendly hi and advanced to the point where I typically stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Most people would interrupt me now, and say that most ladies at home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have 2 replies. One, I'm male, and 2, you do not understand the half of it all. I believe it's time I gave you a total photo of our street and individuals who survive on it. It will come in helpful later. It's a extremely small street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 removed (that's 5 structures in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a vacant house, and then beside that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any chatter. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this website is the removed house where Steve and Mandy deal with their two teenage children. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the roadway, we begin with Linda's home. She just recently separated from her hubby and remains in the process of moving. She remains in her mid 30's and has two pre-teen children Emma and Becky. Next is our house. I haven't presented myself yet, so now would be a good time. I'm John (28 ), and I live with my mum Chrissie (45) and dad Bob (52 ). Next along are some newbies. At this time in November, I didn't know their names, so-called them Dick and Helen to myself. They were a couple, in their late 30's, early 40's, and they appeared to keep themselves to themselves. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City. I never spoke to him, although what I'm about to tell you, so this is the last time I mention him.
