November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with many of the people who walk past the house. I began with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I generally walk down to the garden gate and have a chat. The majority of people would interrupt me now, and state that a lot of ladies at home do what I do, chat and stop with the other females. It's a very little street, 8 semi-detached houses and 1 detached (that's 5 buildings in all). Down the left side (as you stand at the top of the street) there is a uninhabited house, and after that next to that is. where Jody lives. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is always very first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish female in her 60's. Then last on this site is the removed home where Steve and Mandy deal with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we begin with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a chap who worked someplace in the City.
