We all support this, moving through the days, weeks, and years without offering it a second thought. Here's where I vary from the rest of you. Up up until September, I had been similar to you. We have a no smoking policy in our home, imposed on the majority (me & my dad) by the minority (my mother). From here, you can see the entrance to our neighbour's home and the fronts of 2 houses throughout the street. I began to select up on when the mums strolled their kids to school when they came back when they went out shopping, when they took the pet dog for a walk, and when they sat in the garden.

November, and by now I'm on speaking terms with most of the people who stroll past your home. I started with a friendly hello and advanced to the point where I usually stroll down to the garden gate and have a chat. Many people would interrupt me now, and state that most women in your home do what I do, stop and talk with the other women. I have two replies. She's a 70 odd-year-old widower, who is constantly first with any gossip. Next up is Graham's home, he's in his 50's. Next is Sheila's home, she's a huge Irish lady in her 60's. Then last on this site is the separated house where Steve and Mandy cope with their 2 teenage boys. They are in their late 30's.

On the right-hand side of the road, we start with Linda's home. Next is our house. Last on the row was a bloke who worked somewhere in the City.
